Horton Hears a Who- first discussion

It's the first discussion of Sheri and Alyssa. They sit at their desks, facing each other. What will they say?

Sheri simply begins by stating: "I haven't read the book."
Alyssa then replies: "Oh, I'll print out a summary, no worries."

Alyssa goes and prints out a summary, she hands it to Sheri. TA-DAH!

Sheri realizes that the story is about standing up for those who can't stand up for themselves.
Where will it go from here?

Some of the themes the group has come up with that parallels to the world today consist of:

- child slavery
- animal abuse (meh)
- homosexuality (shrugs shoulders)
-women abuse
(These are a connected to the idea of Horton standing up for those who can't stand up for themselves [the Whos])

Another thought came up by Jess(ica) was that it revolves alot around skepticism.

Would you believe in anything without proof?
